Adventure Monkey Jersey Mockups

EDIT: I added one more idea at the bottom, go check it out!
EDIT 2: I added PINK to the Hero Monkey version for the ladies or men that are man enough for pink.

I started working up some jersey ideas along with other things we have stirring around the Adventure Monkey Headquarters. I have kept you involved with all the goings on around here so I thought I would show you some of the ideas that have risen to the top. These are just ideas and the technical work has yet to be done. We want to feel good about the jersey design before we create our first one. We want our first jersey to be kickass enough for us to wear it and for you to want it.

We chose a company and we will be doing some pretty high end quality jerseys that will keep you cool while also looking cool. Add an Adventure Monkey cycling cap to your kit and you will be simply dashing. Oh yeah, that’s something else we have cooking – cycling caps!

Also before I show you the ideas, if you are thinking of going to the September 2011 photocycling tour, sign up soon. People are already signing up! We haven’t had to cap it but we want to keep the group to a manageable size, so if you want to do it, register now for a fun filled cycling weekend! Go HERE for Details.  Go HERE to register.

OK, now please leave a comment on want you think. Go ahead, be critical. We want to know what you think! Would you want to wear one of these? Any changes? Whatever, let us know!

Ronaldo - My vote goes to…

The third option
And I wanna one this for me ;-)

Kevin - I see what you’re going for with the brown/green/blue color combo! I like it but I’d want to see color fabric samples; the computer generated colors look a little weird.

Of the ones here I’d go with the 5th down – I like the primary black with accent colors.

Fonk - I was thinking more of an all black affair, with the big “Adventure Monkey” caption across the front, just as you have it in options 3, 4 and 5, but then on the back, just the big monkey head taking up the whole back. :)

Ron - Nice work Eric. I like #s 3 and 5. Would add a monkey to the middle pocket on the back of #3. Would add the multi-color arm bands to the sleeves of #5. That’s my 2 cents.

Given these nice choices, my purchase decision would rest solely on the availability of a size that would cover this big old adventure monkey. I got adventure in me, but it’s in a pretty big package and it doesn’t come in a “race cut.”

Gretchen - I like 4 & 6! Like the green accents- these are cool, EB!

Ron I hope to be able to get a version to fit even the silverback of the Adventure Monkey clan!

Jed - I like the style of the new one also.

Angela - I like the last one in blue. I thought the monkey liked pink???

June 30, 2011 - 8:31 pm

Ron - Thanks for the silverback comment. I got a good laugh out of that one. I checked out the company website and I am good to go in terms of size…

While I like the others….this last one…the blue….is my favorite. Striking!

Eric - Angela – Oh snap! a pink hero monkey for the ladies! Great idea!

Ron – glad you liked it!

Velosopher - I like ‘em, esp. the text on them!

Third down is my first choice. Fifth down, my second choice.

Not crazy about final one — too typical of designs on jerseys these days.

Kevin - I’d rock the pink.

June 30, 2011 - 10:22 pm

Angela - What about using the blue above the pink one and keep the blue and add a splash of pink? Just a thought. But keep the pink one for Kevin!

June 30, 2011 - 10:38 pm

Renee - I like 7 and 8 (the blue one and the pink one). Love that you have the pink option. I LOVE the pink one. Purple is the new pink this year…that would be a cool option too.

June 30, 2011 - 10:57 pm

Lara - Love the pink one!!!! # 2 is my second fav. Great job!

June 30, 2011 - 11:09 pm

Tommy - Okay, this may be a sickness of my job. But here goes.

“Adventure Monkey” is obviously a playful name. To fit with brand, the jersey should be playful. So I would stay with fun colors vs. classic, earthy tones. Ever thought about fluorescent green and orange? Pink is definitely good for female. Maybe even bright, florescent pink!

Out of the bunch, I like 7 and 8 the most primarily because they are the “funnest” with the big Monkey logo. I do think the Monkey is oversized, and would be great if there’s someway the monkey head isn’t split into too, especially on a super hot day when people may unzip their jersey 1/3 to 1/2 way down (maybe an exaggeration). Don’t know if there’s some way of keeping the Monkey Head on one side of the jersey but still maintaining balance and prominence.

The back is quite cool. I think the look may be improved with a more playful “Feed Your Monkey” font. Also, I would argue it’s a little too wide – can come down in width by 15 – 20%.

Finally, the “never give up” on the side appears a little forced, and will be difficult to read/see. Maybe on the arm? The text will be smaller, but may seem better incorporated into the design. I think a more playful, fun font will help too.

Question: what is that Pactimo symbol? You do realize you’re adding an additional color just because of that little logo – not sure how that affects costs.

June 30, 2011 - 11:21 pm

Jake - I’d wear either of the last ones (blue or pink) – I really like the white sides on those two. The others I am not a huge fan of the color combos but sure they’d look great in fabric.

July 1, 2011 - 3:09 am

Tim - Either the first muted one or the #7 black with blue (and corresponding pink for the ladies). As others have stated, it’s the most playful and some of the mixed-color efforts feel odd.

July 1, 2011 - 4:04 am

Eric - Wow, thanks for all the comments! Oh and the Pactimo logo is the company that makes the jerseys.

July 1, 2011 - 10:12 pm

Shane - I like the second to last idea….

July 2, 2011 - 3:01 am

Kellie Stapleton - Like the last two the best. Definitely would buy!

Roger-Your Man in Wisconsin! - I’d add a lot more logos. ala the Pros jerseys. Lots of stuff looks cooler. Sell to or even donate small logos for High Gear, Salsa, City of Emporia, the theatre downtown, DK200, etc. Any organisation you’re involved with. Even Lance and Livestrong! Keeps your price down and makes the jerseys look more professional. Makes you look more “connected”… whatever that means. and make sure the material used is cool, as in the sun. Lots of difference out there. And if you run into issues, by all means check out Mt Borah Designs, they do it all at a price/quality that will floor you.
