Fixed the blog problem… I think

Sorry for the inconvenience for some of you trying to read this blog. Seems like people on PCs where having trouble with IE shutting down. I couldn’t figure it out and finally emailed tech support. The response really cracked me up. Here is what tech support emailed me.

The problem is your bio text.  You’ve pasted in text from Microsoft Word, which generates a bunch of horrible invisible code, which, ironically enough, only causes Microsoft browsers to crash.

I did the bio on a PC and used Word to type the bio text and then pasted it in. Using a MS product screwed things up, but only for people using a MS browser on a PC (and I think only in Windows 7). Once again, I have found yet another reason why I am happy to be a Mac person and have been since 1994 or so. Hopefully the site is working again for all of you! Sorry for the inconvenience.

Stay tuned. As I type this, my legs are sore from 81 miles of cycling I did today. Quite a story that I will share this week. I went out with a bunch of actual cyclists and stuck with them for a good 25 miles or so. I did ride faster than I ever have and with a full blown head cold. Good times. My sense of accomplishment is through the roof, but I better do more of these rides if I am going to do the DK 200. I am a bit worried.

Eric - Looks like there may still be a problem if you use IE on Windows 7 – Dang it! I am working on getting this fixed.

John B. - Eric,
I just bumped into your blog via Kansas Cyclist, and I thought I’d say howdy. I’ll be throwing up a link to you over at my humble site. Expect tens of new readers!

I’m pleased to learn, also via Kansas Cyclist, that Emporia is taking some steps, though awkward to be sure, toward encouraging cycling in town. Good to know.

Yeah, E-town is not the most bicycle friendly place in the world, that’s for sure. I am really glad you like the site!
