I had a great Labor Day Weekend. The weather was unusually nice for this time of year. It was in the 70′s and 80′s and the humidity wasn’t too bad. You never know what you’re going to get in Kansas, but typically this time of year is hot and muggy. Since I am working four ten hour days at work now, I get every Friday off and with Labor Day I got an extra day off – can’t beat a four day weekend.
I was able to get in three rides totalling about 90 miles. Not too bad with family in town and everything. Sometime soon I want to experience a multi-day bicycle tour, but I still have to buy some ultralight camping equipment, and actually a bike that will hold it all. I am still eyeing the Salsa Fargo (http://www.salsacycles.com/fargo09.html). Looks about perfect for the type of riding I do. Here’s a few shots from the weekend. Enjoy!
- Chicago Mound Cemetery in the Sunday morning fog
- Tree in the fog
- Grasses in Symphony
- A look back at the climb
- fence row
- Downhill out of the Flint Hills (I hit about 37 mph)
