It did what it did

I just read an old post and it cracked me up a little. I was in the middle of designing Issue One of the magazine and had been waking up at 4 a.m. to ride rollers in preparation for the DK200. Read it HERE.

One of the best things about writing a journal is to read it when time has passed. You see how far you’ve come and what you went through to get there. Feels therapeutic to read old feelings and trials and to see how far you’ve come. I am thinking of finding all the posts on certain topics, like the DK200 for example, and putting them together into a book. It wouldn’t be a regular book, since there would be a lot of pictures, but it might be interesting to see it all played out in book style.

So the posts may get a little more spread out because we are in the process of moving. It’s crazy and that’s just our style. We’ve waited, prayed, wondered, waited and cleaned the house for showings (thanks Jen) for around two+ years now hoping it would sell. As Adventure Monkey’s popularity grew, I knew I needed to downsize to put more money and effort into the Monkey. I am feeling it and it seems like some of you are too. Now everything has lined up perfectly. The house sold and we found a house that I think is perfect for us. Here is where it gets crazy.

We have to be out of our house by the 30th of this month (today is the 17th). I am riding the Flint Hills Death Ride on the 25th and need some training rides and our 20 year High School Reunion (Jen and I are in the same class – cute huh?) is on our moving weekend! Luckily we live in the same town as our high school so that will make it a bit easier to make it to some of the events. Wait, living in Emporia is lucky?

Well, I better get off of this machine. I gotta finish painting a room for the new owners and I gotta make some progress on packing. Another day without a ride. Tomorrow will be a big one for the bike.

Richard - From one monkey to another, I hate moving too.
